went for lunch sat 14th 2009 with my wife,found the food very good,not your usual pub fare.highly recommended,i hope the new owner makes a success of it!

Thou some bad points -
Poker nights thou needs to be improved could be a lot better, badly run tables, terribly unstructured and unorganized. Hopfuly it improves.
On Saturday 25 October we held our first Grays Hall Reunion party (after 40 years) here at the Orsett Cock. It was a fantastic evening and everything went according to plan. It was the perfect venue for our evening and we intend holding our reunions there every year from now on. Our thanks to Karen and all her staff for all their hard work in making our reunion just perfect.
went for a game poker on monday night which is fun and friendly enjoyed it alot think i go again.
thou there was 1 player who was amazing! never seen such a good player at low stakes game before, he could read you like a book,
not sure of his name thou had a dragon on his arm so i watch out for him next time
we went there for a close friend of mine. it was her birthday on a sunday and what a great meal the food was all home cooked and the staff were so friendly we all had a great time thank you all so much
An absolutly fantastic meal more than i would have ever dreamed of , staff well mannered and always smiling , my wife commented on the young waiter and how professional he was, the chef seemed to have an eye on creativity and excellence , cant wait for a return in the summer most definatly a place to visit for locals and out of towners like us
wow what a great place to eat we was there sunday and was such a nice meal. All home made none of that frozen crap very well done to all. And what a turn around from what it was . we will be back
A year or so ago I would never have dreamed of going down the Orsett Cock.
Now it's like my second home! The staff are friendly and helpful and always do their best, the entertainment is varied and of a consistent fantastic quality and the food is delicious!
As someone said to me the other night, we can't see why this place isn't buzzing every night!
